During everyday espresso machine use, coffee oils and fine particles can accumulate inside the brewing system. Cafiza is designed to effectively remove these residues.

Ideal for Backflushing

Urnex Cafiza is designed for backflushing professional espresso machines. Urnex recommends using up to 3g of powder per backflush cycle according to the product instructions.

After using the cleaner, the machine must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. Always follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your specific espresso machine.

Cleaning Coffee Equipment Parts

In addition to backflushing, Cafiza can be used to create a soaking solution for cleaning parts such as portafilters, baskets and screens.

For a soaking solution, Urnex recommends 6g of powder per 1 litre of hot water with a soaking time of approximately 30 minutes. Parts should then be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water.

How to Use for Backflushing

1. Insert a blind filter into the portafilter.
2. Add up to 3g of Urnex Cafiza.
3. Insert the portafilter into the group head.
4. Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds and stop for 10 seconds.
5. Repeat the cycle 5 times.
6. Remove the portafilter and rinse with water.
7. Repeat the cycles without cleaner for thorough rinsing.
8. Replace the blind filter with a standard basket and run one espresso cycle to remove any remaining cleaner.

Important: The espresso produced after cleaning must be discarded and must not be consumed.
